vocal duo

Caro e Cara is the classically trained vocal duo of Ilana Lubitsch, soprano and David Moffitt, tenor. Through their connection to each other, to their music, and to their audience they create an intimate experience of love and joy.

Ilana Lubitsch's brilliant, high soprano cuts the orchestra with ease carrying a sizable voice to match her feisty stage presence. Among Ilana's operatic credits are appearances as Königin der Nacht in Die Zauberflöte, Mme Lidoine in Dialogues des Carmélites, Miss Wordsworth in Albert Herring, Adina in L’elisir d’amore and Zerlina in Don Giovanni. Concert appearances include Handel's Messiah, Mozart’s Exsultate Jubilate, Handel’s Samson, Mendelssohn’s Hear My Prayer and Richard Strauss’s Brentano Lieder among others. Recent engagements include a series of concerts as guest artist with the Breckenridge Music Festival, regular appearances as the soprano soloist in Handel’s Messiah and solo and chamber music recitals in North Carolina.

David Moffitt has performed for audiences since 1984 and made his professional debut singing Gioachino Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle with the Mid-Columbia Choral Society, Walla Walla, Washington. Since then he has remained an active soloist of recital and concert repertoire. His vibrant tenor is powerful yet expressive allowing him to truly connect with the listener. Favored works include Puccini's Turandot and La Bohème, Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony, Handel’s Messiah, and Mendelssohn’s Second Symphony; Lobgesang among others. BUY TICKETS
